Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Chapel Hill, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across North Carolina run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. When I came for my takeout I noticed a fragrance smell and was told it’s a scented candle “for atmosphere.” I informed the host that 30% of the population is allergic to artificial fragrance and it’s actually dangerous for everyone’s health. She laughed at me. If you’re interested in mediocre food with a side of carcinogens like VOCs, benzene and phthalates, this is your place. I definitely don’t recommend it.

I’ve been coming to this restaurant for over 6 years ( just because I live close by) , food it’s fine at best, and service is always short and mediocre, however I kept coming just out of convenience. Today we needed to dine in the patio cause we had our puppy, and they dared to tell us they could not serve us in the patio cause it was “too polleny out there”. I’m sorry, whaaaat!? Yes there’s some pollen but WE are the ones eating outside, they didn’t need to have a beer or a 10min conversation with us out there! Could have at least offer to have a to go order and be able to use the patio, but they could care less about their customers. Just go to Thai Palace, 1 mile down the road, that place it’s so pretty and so much better in every aspect.

Randomly stumbled upon this place last night as we happened to be in the area and we loved it! We were seated right away, had friendly service, place was clean and decorated and food was delicious! Definitely want to come back and try more things!

Enjoyed a meal here with my daughter. The food is well-seasoned and prepared. We asked about Level 3 spice and were encouraged to choose Level 2 and get the ghost pepper on the side. The noodles (Pad See Ew) had absorbed enough spice it didn’t need any more. But with the Bangkok red curry with Duck—which was our favorite—we added a bit more spice. Very tasty. Staff served us as a team (I’m guessing they split the tips). They got busy and we needed to flag them down to get a second portion of rice. But everything was SO fast, tasty, efficient, fresh. I recommend this for a simple evening out for solidly good Thai food.

First and foremost, this restaurant can make Thai dishes including curries without fish sauce and oyster sauce so that they're truly vegetarian. A lot of people are complaining about the high spice levels and these reviews, but I did not find them any different from most other Thai restaurants. The mild was mild and the medium was reasonably medium. That being said, I was not a fan of the Thai basil sauce with their Bangkok 54 sauce. For whatever reason, I couldn't really taste the basil component of it. The crispy tofu was very good and so were the fresh spring rolls. I would say even the green curry that we ordered was extremely flavorful, though it turned out to be a bit sweet; maybe that was because we asked for it to be mild? So be wary of it. I would also say that the Thai iced tea was a bit too mild in flavor for my taste. There is a reasonable amount of outdoor seating here and the people that work here are accommodating.
